Estadística, I - Statistics, I

A two-year sequence of courses in Statistics. Descriptive statistics, probability, and statistical inferences. Models: simple regression, explainable variables. Econometrics for computers and general purposes.

FIRST SEMESTER:

Contabilidad Financiera, I - Financial Accounting, I

Accounting techniques for the purpose of analyzing the financial state of a company and its results. Cash flow, the determination of costs, and the use of such information in management decision-making.

Historia Económica - World Economic History

The study of the processes of economic change and transformation, from the industrial revolution until the present.

Economía de la Empresa, I - Introduction to Business Administration, I

The study of business enterprise in its surrounding economic reality. The functional realities of a business: production, investment, finance, and commercialization/marketing.

Matemáticas, I - Mathematics, I

Lineal algebra, differential and integral calculus, the mathematics of finance, and financial operations.

Microeconomía, I - Microeconomics, I

The theory of production and consumer costs, competitive balance, non-competitive markets, and economic efficiency. The theory of well-being.

A continuation of Contabilidad Financiera, I. Students coming for the second semester only should have taken a course at home that corresponds to (see before).

Economía de la Empresa, II - Introduction to Business Administration, II

A continuation of Economía de la Empresa, I. Students coming for the second semester only should have taken a course at home that corresponds to (see before).

Derecho Civil Patrimonial - Introduction to Property Law

An introductory course in Spanish and EC law as it relates to civil law manifested in property, labor, mercantile, and fiscal law.

Matemáticas, II - Mathematics, II

A continuation of Matemáticas, I. Students coming for the second semester only should have taken a course that corresponds to (see before).

Microeconomía, II - Microeconomics, II

A continuation of Microeconomía, I . Students coming for only the second semester should have taken a course at home that corresponds to (see before).

Administración de Empresas - Business Administration

The fundamentals of planning, administration, control, methods and techniques of business management. Study of administration as a process within an organization.

Estadística, II - Statistics, II

A continuation of Estadística, I (see before). This is a second year course in Statistics. As the student progresses in the major, greater precision and application of theory is the norm.

FIRST SEMESTER:

Contabilidad Analítica, I - Analytical Accounting, I

With the information and tools secured in first year courses, here skills begin to be put together for a deeper analytical understanding of the results accounting shows.

La Economía Mundial - World Economy

Analysis, by sectors, of the world economy today with special reference as to how it relates to the Spanish and the EC economy.

Macroeconomía, I - Macroeconomics, I

Income in a closed economic system. Money, inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and open economies. The instruments of a political economy.

SECOND SEMESTER:

Contabilidad Analítica, II - Analytical Accounting, II

A continuation of Contabilidad Analítica, I (see before). Students coming for only the second semester should have already taken a year of financial accounting as a prerequisite.

Derecho Mercantil - Mercantile Law

A continuation on Derecho Mercantil Patrimenial. Here major emphasis is given to mercantile law within the frame established in (see before).

Macroeconomía, II - Macroeconomics, II

A continuation of Macroeconomía, I (see before). Students coming for only the second semester should have taken one semester of macroeconomics prior to arrival for this course.

Matemáticas para Operaciones Financieras - Mathematics for Financial Operations

A continuation of the math track in which attention is now focused on the specifics of mathematics for financial operations at multiple levels.

Third Year Courses:

YEAR-LONG:

Dirección de Recursos Humanos, I & II - Human Resources, I & II

The processes of human resource management. Different styles and modes of management. The nature of decision-making and delegation, motivation, designs for specific positions. Identifying the individual, dealing with conflicts, and using negotiation.

Economía Española, I & II - Spanish Economy, I & II

Based in knowledge from studies in economics in first and second year, this third year course uses that accumulation for an in depth analysis of the Spanish economy within the European framework.

Gestión Empresarial Informatizada , I & II - Computing for Business Management, I & II

The study of the different applications of computer sciences, in relation to the success of business operations. How it can apply to the different sectors of a business such as accounting, auditing, marketing, management, and human resources.

Hacienda Pública, I & II - Public Finance I and II

The financial activity of the public sector. Norms and tax implications, theory of tax impositions, and fiscal systems. The economic consequences of taxation.

FIRST SEMESTER:

Derecho Laboral - Labor Law

After a short historical analysis, the study of the laws relating to employment, workers, unions, and workers rights in Spain and the EC.

SECOND SEMESTER:

Organización de Empresas - Business Organization and Structures

Theories of business organizations. Analysis of structures, design of organizations (surroundings, technology, size), and management in organizations. Analysis of organizational management and processes.

Fourth Year Courses:

YEAR-LONG:

Dirección Comercial - Commercial Management

A two-semester course dedicated to understanding the objectives of management from the point of view of a firm's commercial activities.

Dirección Financiera - Financial Organization and Direction

A two-semester course dedicated to understanding the objectives and means of a firm's financial management. Previous studies in the degree program are incorporated into the study plan, as they may pertain to financial management.

Dirección y Gestión de Producción y Operaciones - Direction and Management of Production and Operations

A two-semester course dedicated to issues related to the direction and management of a firm's production and operations for production. Knowledge from previous years' studies will be focused upon, as they may relate to the core course topics.

Econometría - Advanced Econometrics

A two-semester course in which advanced econometrics is examined in depth. Previous studies of econometrics are pulled up again, but for the purpose of applying the science to the full scope of a firm's operations, within its contexts. Contexts here refer to such things as labor law, mercantile law, etc.

Derecho Tributario - Tax Law

A two-semester course in which future professionals in the area of business and international business are introduced to the tax system, codes and laws of Spain and the EU. The course is intended to prepare them to understand the language, structures, and attitudes of the general workings of the tax system(s) so that they can understand expert reports on their activities, in the various fields of business administration.

FIRST SEMESTER:

Dirección Estratégica y Política Empresarial - Strategic Planning in Political Scenes

A course dealing with the political implications of all business activities, either national or international. How does the public sector see the private sector? What expectations do society and social authority have in, and demand of, firms? How to secure a company's objectives in the real world around it.

Investigación Comercial - Commercial Research

An advanced seminar for commerce majors in which research for commercial objectives is the object of study, with corresponding experimentation in projects.

LIST 'B' (Electives or Optativas)

Electives presume the basis of what the School requires in the first three to five semesters of instruction. Again, plan on enriching what you have already started but remember that some courses do not really require specific pre-requisites for success. Each participant will be advised where their individual choice may prove more advanced.

Same courses are electives in the Spanish study plan. These courses are taken by Spanish students, with a special interest in the field, after their first two years of university study, review courses they would probably have taken. Compare those courses with what you have or will have taken to measure how well you can compete with them.

The study of auditing as it relates to financial control, analysis and reporting

Control de Gestión - Management Monitoring

Once strategies and plans are in place, how to monitor them for known objectives.

Dirección de Recursos Humanos, II - Human Resources, II

Senior seminar in human resource management. Recruiting, use of human resource firms, interviewing.

Marketing Internacional - International Marketing

The applications and innovation of marketing, when undertaken on the international scene.

Distribución Comercial - Distribution and Logistics

Time, demand, delivery of goods and services.

Gestión de Calidad - Quality Control

Quality maintenance and control. Innovation for quality services and goods. Expectations, realities and customer demands.

SECOND SEMESTER:

Auditoría de Estados Financieros, II - Auditing for Financiers, II

A continuation of Auditoría de Estados Financieros, I (see before).

Contabilidad Fiscal - Fiscal Accounting

Accounting for tax purposes. Preparation of economic and financial reports for inspection.

Gestión Financiera - Financial Control

The application of corporate financial control for all aspects of the services/products process. The full understanding of the implications of what is in costs.

Dirección de la Inovación y el Cambio - Management for Innovation and Change

The understanding innovation and change as part of any business. How to control and manage it for objectives within costs and resources.

Dirección y Gestión de Producción y Operaciones, II - Direction and Control of Production and Operations, II

Production depends on demand for goods and services. Operations will react to that demand. How to manage operations as a means to production.

Mercados Financieros - Financial Markets

Spanish, EC and world financial markets.

Planificación Estratégica - Strategic Planning

The projection of objectives demands strategic planning for a company. The balance of ambitions, resources, and potential recourses vis-à-vis projected objectives.

Procesos de Mejora en los Sistemas de Producción e Información - Processes for Improvement in Production and Information Systems

The importance of information on production. The full implication of the importance of information for production and the goals of production.

Publicidad - Publicity

The nature of publicity as a means of achieving goals. How it works. How to control and profit from it. Nature of the offer/nature of the public and the market.

Regimen Jurídico de las Cooperativas y Afines (organizaciones no lucrativas) - The Legal Frame for Cooperatives (non-profit organizations)

The legislation governing such organizations in Spain and the EC.

La Seguridad Social y la Empresa - The Firm and Spanish-EU Social Security

Social Security laws and obligations governing the relationship, rights and obligations of workers and companies within the EU.

La Administración Pública y la Empresa - Public Administration and Business

The nature of the public firm or company in Spain and Europe. What are they? What do they do? Why they exist? When do they go private? Case studies.

Gestión y Punto de Venta: Merchandising - Control and Outlets for Merchandising

From factory, firm and company to the shops and stores where products are sold. The nature of merchandising and its control by the producer, wholesaler.
